Nelsons help create rustic bird feeders

March 12, 2019
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Kevin and Kim Nelson visited the Toledo Public Library Art Lab to help the kids create rustic bird feeders.

Kevin donated the feeders and had pre-drilled the holes for the kids to fill with bird food. With assistance, each child drilled a hole in the top of their feeder to insert an eye hook for hanging.

The kids blended their own peanut butter and seed mixture and stuffed it into each hole. The group also talked about different types of birds and the sounds that they make. They also found out that peanut butter is full of fat and a great source of food for the winter birds to enjoy. The library and kids appreciate the Nelsons for providing this fun and educational program for the Art Lab students.
