The Mustangs are coached by Micha Mims who is in her third season as the Head Coach. Mims herself is a graduate of Mount Mercy University. She served as the assistant women's basketball coach at Culver-Stockton (Mo.) in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart). In two years there, Mims helped the Wildcats post back-to-back 20-win seasons. Mims is a Cedar Rapids native and prepped at Cedar Rapids Washington High School.

"It's really exciting and it feels really good that I have a plan and I know what I'm doing next year," said Berger.

Berger plans to go into nursing. That along with the Mount Mercy coaching staff is what helped make her ultimate decision between two colleges she had been looking at.

"When I met Coach Mims, she is amazing. She's really hyped all the time and I really like that atmosphere so it was a no brainer," said Berger.

Berger is the daughter of Julie Berger of Toledo.
