Special to The Chronicle , Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Belle Werner, 5th grader at STC Middle School won 2nd prize in the 2019 Camp Creamery Character Roundup contest with her story of "What a Weasel."

The contest sponsored by the Old Creamery Theater was open to all schools in the state of Iowa. The guidelines for the contest were to write a story with interesting characters that exhibited the six pillars of character with a strong moral lesson at the end of the story. Belle's story was about a young girl, Bobbi that started her own chicken broilers business, and ended up "counting her chickens before they hatched."

Belle's story will remain the property of the Old Creamery Theater for potential use in some of their upcoming shows.
