Mansfield Foundation announces 2019 grants for area

The Mansfield Charitable Foundation has announced the following 2019 grants made to Tama Toledo area organizations:

City of Tama - $50,000 for remodeling of civic center and city hall

STC Scholarship Foundation- $5,000 annual scholarship

STC School District- $100,000 annual funding of Project Lead the Way

Tama Co Historical District $12,300 to restore the neon sign at King Tower

Wieting Theatre $60,000 for phase II of restoration project

Tama and Toledo Ambulance $15,000 for CRP training mannequin

Wesley Mansfield was a Boone County Neb. native who became a successful businessman in Tama and Belle Plaine Iowa.

The Foundation was created in 1984, and mainly funded from the estates of Wes and his wife, Irene, in the late 1980's.

The foundation tries to make a difference in the communities where their wealth was created.
