“Be Yourself” featured at Toledo Library craft session

August 11, 2019
Special to the Chronicle , Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The Toledo Public Library hosted a two-hour Be Yourself session where participants created two amazing crafts. This group had a fun time using their imaginations to create their own fairy cup gardens with the help of Tama County Extension Director, Cheryl Bruene.

Cheryl brought a variety of interesting cups to choose from, and the girls filled them up with rock, soil, plants and other tiny items to make their fairy house a home. Some of the tiny items constructed were a shell hammock, a fabric pillow, a fabric flag and tables & chairs made from twigs and bottle caps.

The girls also designed a piece of art work called a "Word Board" by cutting out and writing encouraging words onto a piece of black foam board. They decorated their creation with a mirror, stickers, pom poms and metallic markers. The results were all unique keepsakes.
