The Toledo Public Library had an incredibly active summer by hosting 48 youth programs with 402 local children attending those programs.

Library Assistant Mary Brandt held story time each Friday. Mary reached into the community gathering guests to visit the kids at story time.

We would like to recognize our story time guests, Elizabeth Ledvina who talked about the importance of the American flag, Rick Cooper DVM who shared information about animals and brought his dog to share, Jen Thiessen gave information about saving money and having a piggy bank to save it in, George Baack from our local Fareway who gave the kids an idea of how a grocery store operates and the Toledo Fire and Rescue for visiting the library bringing the ambulance and the fire truck for sharing. We appreciated the time these individuals shared with our local children to encourage their love of reading.

We would also like to recognize The State Bank of Toledo for donating to our summer programs and for helping to host the Summer Savings Lab at the library and our local Kwik Star for donating a gift card to our adult summer reading program and certificates for young readers.

We would also like to accknowledge our local Subway and Casey's for donating food certificates to enhance our summer reading programs.

These incentives add great fun and help to challenge all of our readers. Joyce Roddan was the winner of the Kwik Star gift card. Joyce enjoyed participating in the adult summer reading challenge and was so excited to win the grand prize.
