September was National Library Card Sign Up Month. We hope you took advantage and signed up for your card to receive all of your fantastic library benefits! In 2018-2019 the library signed up 169 people for a new library card.

Public Libraries are significant in communities and add to our quality of life. Libraries can be a particularly useful tool for many citizens of all ages.

There are 543 public libraries in Iowa. Libraries have informed and dedicated staff to help you with your needs.

The Toledo Library has many essential services and provides assistance to our local residents and people that may be traveling.

The Toledo Public Library provides books, audio books and DVDs and also provides early literacy services, crafting events, informative and educational events, e-Book and audiobook digital services, Internet, wifi, FAX, copy, scan and notary services, meeting room availability, display case for public displays and collections and so much more! September was National Library Card Month, but every day is a good day to register for your library card.

The annual book sale will run through Oct. 31. Stop in to pick up a bag full for $2. All proceeds from the book sale go back into the library for future purchases. Thank you for your support.

Upcoming events for October and November are:

Craft Lab, Tuesday, October 1st at 11:00.

Gourd Painting, Tuesday, October 8th from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Call to register with $5.00.

Quilt Discussion and Appraisals, Monday, October 21st and Tuesday, October 22nd. Discussions on Monday are at 9:30 and 6:30 with appraisal appointments in between. Led by certified appraisers Charlene Richtsmeier and Valorie Bonk. Contact the library for an appraisal appointment, 641-484-3362.

Election Day Soup Lunch, Tuesday, November 5th from 11:30 1:00. This is a free will donation luncheon to help support the library foundation. Everyone is welcome.

Iowa Author Linda McCann, Thursday, November 7th at 2:00 p.m. Linda will discuss her new book, Prisoners of War in Iowa.

Winter Centerpiece Demonstration, Thursday, November 21st at 5:30. Led by Cheryl Bruene, Director, ISU Extension.

Chamber Holiday Kickoff, Crafting Event at the library, Saturday, November 23rd from 9:30 11:30. Open to all families.
