For the next 10 years the South Tama School District's Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program- "Project Lead the Way" - will be backed by a $100,00 grant yearly from the Mansfield Foundation. A chief part provides for a classroom and teacher devoted to STEM at the Middle School in Toledo.

The elementary school is provided with space devoted to STEM in its library and the high school has resources directed to the science department as part of the grant funding.

"STEM education is a priority at the state level , especially as we prepare our students to be successful in the 21st century," Middle School Principal Ben Adams says. " We cannot thank the Mansfield Foundation enough for their dedication of resources to help improve STEM in the South Tama School District."
