Nathan Shepard named Toledo Police Chief

Nathan Shepard was chosen Toledo Police Chief during a special meeting of the city council on Monday night, Oct, 7. Council members Joe Boll, Darvin Graham, Duane Pansegrau and Mayor Pro Tem Brian Sokol voted in favor. Member Steve Vesely and Mayor John Lloyd were absent.

Shepard replaces Bob Kendall who resigned the position effective immediately on Sept. 18.

Shepard has been serving as a detective on a the Toledo force.

Shepard heads up a five officer force which is supplemented by part-time officers. His pay was set at $51,000 annually. he was aid $49,500 in the detective's position.

The council authorized Shepard to post a police officer job opening on the department.

Sgt. Dan Quigley had been named interim chief by the council following Kendall's resignation.
