Market Report for October 25, 2019

With bittersweet thoughts the market season has come to an end. This vendor is happy to see it end. I started the market season with a right knee injury and I am ending with a left knee injury.

It makes me wonder if someone is trying to tell me its time to retire. As one ages, things wear out. As the garden season proceeds, some crops emerge, some don't, some crops go above and beyond, and some don't.

This market season things were late coming on or never showed up at market. Remember sweet corn season, very late and then gone in a flash.

Tomato season, one wondered if they were every going to arrive at market, but when they did they stayed along time. Pumpkins, this vendor's patch ripen way too early, so along with that they rotted very fast and were gone before the season started.

We will all miss seeing our customers smiling faces, along with seeing our fellow vendors. But as in any season, the market season is over. We will all start planning on a bigger and better growing season for 2020. And we will all have our comparisons to the growing season of 2019.

The Toledo Farmers' Market would like to send out a BIG Thank-you to all that made the 2019 season a successful one.

You ask how it can be successful with a crazy growing season. It was successful because each and every one of you had your part in its success.

It was because of you, a vendor, a customer, a helper, the manager, a vistor, the paper for allowing this article, and the people who read it or just visited our facebook page to get your little slice of the market. THANK YOU ALL.

As always see you at market in 2020, Dawn Troutner manager.
