TAMA NEWS-HERALD - A two-year-old application for post-conviction relief filed by Dave (DJ) Tomlinson Jr., was dismissed in an order issued on Feb. 25 by Tama County District Court Judge Marsha M. Beckelman. Tomlinson was seeking to overturn two 1st degree murder and escape or absence from custody convictions.

TAMA NEWS-HERALD - A nationwide report called the "2010 County Health Rankings" was released today by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. The report compares the health of counties in every state across the nation, measured by overall health and factors that influence health.

TAMA NEWS-HERALD - All supporters of the license application for the proposed Prairie Hills Resort Casino at Tama are invited to travel to Des Moines on March 23 by bus. Tama Mayor Chris Bearden said free bus transportation to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission meeting will be provided with departure from the Tama Civic Center, 305 Siegel, at 8:30 a.m.
