“If we are doing something that involves uncertainty, attention, struggle and change we are going to feel fear!” This quote was said by Trevor Ragan in a podcast called The Learner Lab in which Ragan is the host. He is also the founder of an organization called Train Ugly.

Through his organization Train Ugly, Ragan discusses growth mindset, resiliency, fear and how to become a better learner. Ragan’s overall goal of Train Ugly is to discover, understand and share the science of how to become a better learner.

Ragan will be bringing his wisdom and knowledge to the South Tama County community to kick off the 2019-20 school year. He will be leading a community event on Thursday, Aug. 22 starting at 7 p.m. at the STC High School Gymnasium.

This event sponsored by the STC MCGF committee is free and open to the public. The following day Ragan will be speaking with the entire student body throughout the first day of school.

Ragan has worked with best-selling authors, olympic coaches, professional athletes, renowned professors and thousands of coaches, teachers, students and players from all over the world.
