Although the past year has required many traditional events and activities to be postponed or canceled, several organizations in Tama County are making adjustments to allow for the celebration and recognition of tomorrow’s Veteran’s Day holiday.

Below is a listing of Veteran’s Day events happening in southern Tama County this week.

South Tama Veteran’s Day Celebration

Wednesday, Nov. 11

Reverse Parade and Breakfast

8:30 a.m. – Vehicles line up at STC Elementary for the reverse parade.

8:50 a.m. – Flag raising ceremony at STC Elementary

9 a.m. – Reverse parade begins at STC Elementary and goes up the High School. Students will be out along the route to waive at veteran’s and their families as they drive through the route.

9:10 a.m. – Parade participants served free breakfast in their vehicles (rolls, coffee and juice)

Toledo American Legion Veteran’s Day Ceremony

Wednesday, Nov. 11

11 a.m. – Ceremony at the Toledo Legion Hall in downtown Toledo

Veteran’s Day Lunch Meal at Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel

Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 11 a.m. To 2 p.m.

South Garage Doors behind the Casino Convention Center

Veterans will drive up to the south garage doors and remain in their vehicle.

Each vehicle will receive the following:

– 2 box lunches

– 1 t-shirt (while supplies last)

– 1 $10 Free Play postcard to be redeemed at Club Meskwaki with an expiration date of Nov. 30, 2020.
