A pie-baking contest and auction will be one of the highlights of the Tama County Pork Producer’s annual meeting scheduled for January 14th at the Gladbrook Memorial Building.

Renewing your membership will reserve you a meal at the banquet. If you would like to be a member or would like to attend our banquet, please notify a board member, or you may do so at the door.

Registration and Social at 5:30 p.m. with the meal at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to enter the homemade pie-baking contest. The pies may be brought to the banquet with you when you come.

Each entry will be assigned a number, and the judging will begin. Classes are as follows: Women’s (1 crust and 2 crust), Men’s, and Youth, with a winner in each division and an overall winner. The overall winner receives $100, with each individual winner receiving $50.

All pies will be auctioned off during the banquet. The Tama County Pork Producers will use the proceeds to sponsor the youth swine program and for sponsoring the swine show at the county fair. We also donate a percentage to the Tama County Sheriff’s canine dog program.

You need not be a pork producer member to enter. So give it a chance. You may be the BEST PIE BAKER IN TAMA COUNTY!!
