The Tri-County Community Band will begin rehearsals once again for their annual performance at the Lincoln Highway Bridge Festival, which will be on Friday, May 19 at the Tama Civic Center.

If you have a musical background, you are encouraged to attend rehearsals on Monday evenings from 7 to around 8:30 p.m. The first rehearsal will be Monday, April 10 at the STC High School Band Room.

Ability level does not matter as this group is all about having fun and making music.

“From my perspective as a teacher, this is some of the very best educational opportunities our students can get, sitting alongside adults from the area and confirming music is a lifelong activity!” STC and Community Band Director Mike Carnahan said.

The band is made up of individuals from Tama and Toledo, along with Belle Plaine, Marshalltown, Victor and many other surrounding areas.

Old and new members alike can be on the lookout for new music featured this year, along with some of the band’s staples.

If you have any questions, please contact Carnahan at (515) 689-6176.
