At Monday’s Tama County Supervisors meeting, birds were the main subject of debate. A resolution was on the docket to designate Tama County as a bird friendly community. From wind turbines to invasive species like crows and sparrows, the present community members asked just how this resolution would affect life in Tama County.

The supervisors had no answers. Neither did Tama County Human Resources Manager Tammy Wise, who was spearheading the resolution on behalf of Tama County Conservation. After much back and forth, the resolution was tabled until the public’s questions could be answered.

The Tama County engineer told how the Toledo Deer Creek Bridge is nearing a finish with just a few more items to be dealt with. The county bridge crew is working on I Avenue. The engineer also said that the blades and durapatcher are out making the rounds.

The recorder’s quarterly report was approved.

It was also approved for the courthouse lawn to be used on the 27th for trunk or treat.

North Risk Partners came in towards the end of the meeting to give their yearly insurance update. It was business as usual, with few changes.

Claims totaling $229,764.91 were approved.
