UTV driver life flighted after accident in Tama County

The driver of a side by side UTV was life flighted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Thursday after attempting to cross Highway 30 northbound at the V18 intersection between Chelsea and Vining and being struck by a westbound vehicle last Thursday just before noon.

According to a press release from the Tama County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the SUV was not injured. Neither driver was identified in the release. The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Belle Plaine Fire and EMS departments, the Chelsea Fire Department and the Tama Police Department.
