NE Iowa Food Bank celebrate Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive success

WATERLOO – The Northeast Iowa Food Bank is extremely grateful for the contributions and success of the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, hosted by the National Association of Letter Carriers. This initiative aims to fight food insecurity across the nation, thus contributing to our mission of closing the Meal Gap in northeast Iowa.

On the second Saturday of May, the National Association of Letter Carriers holds the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, during which mail carriers across the nation collect non-perishable food items donated by residents within the communities.

In 2023, donations received from the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive totaled 25,641 pounds. This year, donations received totaled more than 19,700 pounds. The Northeast Iowa Food Bank covers: Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Fayette, Floyd, Grundy, Howard, Mitchell, Poweshiek, Tama, Winneshiek counties.
