TOLEDO – When was the last time you went and saw a penguin? Or walked into a room filled with flowers? Well, now there is no excuse for you not to. It is called the Iowa Libraries Adventure Pass Program, and it is here to brighten your day, expand your world, and massage your brain with fun.
The Toledo Library has joined dozens of other libraries around the state to give you a free pass into a multitude of Iowa attractions. If you are thinking there has to be a catch, you’re wrong. However, there are a few rules.
Rule one: This is only available to City of Toledo and rural Tama County residents, so, if you live over in Elk Horn, you’re outta luck.
Rule two: You must be 18 years of age and older, so, if you are two 12-year-olds in a trench coat, it’s gonna be a no go.
Rule three: The passes are for general admission only, no special events.
Rule four: One pass per venue may be used once every 365 days, so, you can go today, and then a year from today.
And rule five: You must have a valid library card, of course.
If you follow these simple rules, you’ll be able to get into some amazing Iowa attractions. Where you wonder. Well, the places you can go for free with the Adventure Pass are The Blank Park Zoo (admits 2 adults and 2 children), The Des Moines Children’s Museum (admits 2 adults and 2 children) The Greater Des Moines Botanical Gardens (admits 2 adults and 2 children) The Reiman Gardens in Ames (admits 2 adults and 4 children from the same household), and The Science Center of Iowa (admits 2 adults and 2 children).
The fun and excitement of the Adventure Pass program are made possible through the generosity of the Toledo Library Foundation and sponsorships from local groups and individuals.
If you have any more questions about this new program make sure to contact the library for more information, phone 641-484-3362 or email library@toledoiowa.gov.
So, if you feel like heading out and peaking at some penguins, or if you ever wondered what a room full of flowers smelled like, don’t wait any longer. Take advantage of the Adventure Pass program from the Toledo Library and explore some of this state’s wonders — the astounding places you’ll go simply with your local library card.
