The engines roared with power, shaking the eardrums of everyone in town. The bright summer sun showed down sparkling off of the shiny glistening paint that covered the flurry of vehicles. This was the 2024 Tama-Toledo Chamber Car Show. A record-breaking year for the annual event, with 165 cars in all. The line of vehicles filled up 3rd Street in Tama from Highway 63 to the Civic Center’s parking lot, but even that wasn’t enough room. More classic cars were parked across the Civic Center’s front lawn, even filling part of Siegel Street. Money was raised for the Tama Police Department’s new K9 unit with the event’s 50/50 raffle.
