‘Close call’ after vehicle hits snowplow near Marshall-Tama County line
TAMA COUNTY — In a social media post Monday morning, the Tama County Sheriff’s Office reported a ‘close call’ when a vehicle hit a snowplow with its wing blade out on Highway 30 near the Marshall County line.
“Thankfully, everyone is okay, but it’s a good reminder to be extra careful out there,” the post read.
The Sheriff’s Office shared the following safe driving tips.
– Keep Your Distance: Give snowplows plenty of space–they’ve got big blind spots.
– Skip Passing: It’s safer to hang back; those plows can be tricky to navigate around.
– Watch for Wing Blades: Those side blades can be hard to spot, so be alert!
– Slow Down: Roads can be icy, even if they look clear.
