This week’s Tama City Council meeting
TAMA – The Tama City Council knocked the newly fallen snow off the bottoms of their shoes and started the meeting as the sun sat on a chilly Monday night. The first item on the agenda that tapped the ball and got things rolling down the pike was the contract for the 5th Street realignment. The contract was awarded to TK Concrete and is proposed to be a 30-day process with a start day of April 1.
The council approved the public works director and the city clerk authority to approve rental contracts for the paper mill property, without having to go through the council.
The council agreed that Nuisance Officer Jamie Youngbear would deal with nuisance snow removal. Two resolutions were approved to update policies, the depository resolution and the Investment Policy.
The council then went into a closed session under Iowa Code 21.5 to discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent.
