Adjusting the Board of Adjustments
Two new members appointed during Monday’s supervisors meeting
TOLEDO – As a fog lay lifeless in the sky like a raccoon on the side of the highway, the usual group of local government spectators cut through the wet, dreary morning to attend this week’s Supervisors meeting. The meeting started, like it always does, with County Engineer Ben Daleske giving his report; the trucks were out on paved roads on Saturday and Sunday, and the bridge crew finished up work on their current bridge project. James Lacina was hired for the open motor grader position. The bridge inspector came through and found the bridge on 340th Street between X Ave and Hwy 21 in need of repair so the bridge will be closed until further notice.
The supervisors approved Katherine Ollendieck of Tama County Economic Development to relinquish local government status from the Department of Cultural Affairs. The county is no longer qualified for this.
Berleen Wobeter and John Wagner were approved to fill the two open seats on the Board of Adjustments after interviews were conducted last week.
The Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center Agreement was approved to be extended.
Claims totaling $371,040.39 were approved.
