Built on memories
House fire decimates home of Toledo residents
On December 13, the Rosenberger family’s life would be turned upside down. Woken up by loud crashing noises, Ty Rosenberger and Tamara Mauskemo expected an intruder, only to be surprised with flames and smoke.
The family home located in rural Toledo, just north of town, caught fire in the wee hours of last Friday morning. The family had been working on finishing their dream house which they started building seven years ago. The house was full of memories and even built upon them, with the cement foundation being laid by Ty’s father, the late Steve “Rosy” Rosenberger.
With no official cause identified at this time, the family suspects a Christmas decoration placed by the front door.
With nothing but the clothes on their backs, the family is starting over. This prompted Tamara’s sister along with eldest daughter Tylese, who just recently moved out into an apartment. To begin an online donation campaign after many inquiries from family and friends.
Tylese spoke emotionally about her family
“My parents are always willing to help, not just their kids, but everyone around them. I’m now trying to do whatever I can to help my family in this situation,” she said.
Staying in a hotel room currently the family is taking steps to get their lives back to normal and decide how to move forward.
If you are so inclined, donations are being accepted through Tylese’s Venmo and Cash App accounts, those can be searched through usernames: trosenberger on Venmo and $queenlesey on Cash App.
