Tama SWCD Scholarship winner announced

Josey Wacha.

TAMA — Congratulations to Josey Wacha of rural Tama. Wacha is this year’s recipient of Tama Soil & Water Conservation District’s $1,000 High School Scholarship and is the daughter of Bryan and Angela Wacha. She is finishing her senior year at South Tama County High School before heading to Ellsworth Community College majoring in Conservation Technology before completing a four-year degree in Wildlife Biology.

She has been contemplating a career in wildlife biology since 7th grade. In her scholarship application, Wacha said, “As a wildlife biologist, I will need to ensure that the ecosystems I study can sustain the species present. Healthy soil and water form the foundation for a balanced ecosystem. By doing my part to conserve these resources, I can help achieve my future career goals while contributing to the health of our planet.”

Tama SWCD wishes her success in all future endeavors.
