On March 19, the Toledo Police Department released a statement about a trailer that was stolen from Chyma’s Machine and Welding on March 17. After an investigation was started and a suspect was identified, a related search warrant was conducted in Hardin County on March 18. The trailer was recovered and returned to the owner.

Forty-year-old Tanner Joe Vinton of Eldora was arrested and charged with theft in the second degree, a Class C felony, and trespass first offense, a simple misdemeanor.

The Toledo Police Department was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshalltown Police Department, the Eldora Police Department and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.

The official statement by the Toledo Police Department also said, “We would like to extend our gratitude to the local businesses and community members in Tama, Marshall, and Hardin counties that provided valuable information.”
