Patricia Allen

Patricia Allen, 63, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. The family requests casual attire.

Patricia was born on January 22, 1952 in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Roy and Eleanor Faye (Spencer) Ward Jr.

She graduated from Mattoon High School in IL and the Patricia Stevens College in St. Louis, Mo., with a degree in fashion design.

On June 18, 1972, she was united in marriage to James Allen in Mattoon, lll. She was employed as a clerk at the Tama County Treasurer’s Office in Toledo for the past 14 1/2 years. Patricia enjoyed watching wildlife and spending time at their cabin in southern Iowa. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Her kind attitude towards others will always be remembered.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, James of Toledo; her children, Jamie (Tom) Vest of Kellogg and Greg (Jolene) Allen of Toledo; two grandchildren, Baileigh and Brodee Vest; one brother, Edward Ward of St. Cloud, MN; and two sisters, Brenda (Kevin) Collins of Springfield, IL and Pam Jansen of Clayton, Washington.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial fund has been established.
