Cheryl Jeanette Begay was born on April 9, 1979 in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Clarence Jr. and Loretta jean (Morgan) Begay. She passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 at Hospice of the NI-alley-Ryan House in Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 at Abel Funeral services, Phoenix, Az.

Cheryl was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and spent her life here pursuing self expression through different art mediums. She also enjoyed welding, clothing design, creating fine art and jewelry making. She also attended museums, clubs, live performances and art galleries.

Preceeding her in death were her father Clarence Begay jr, paternal grandparents Clarence Begay Sr. and Flora (Benally) Begay, maternal grandparents Galley Sr. and Clara (Young Bear) Morgan, nephew Richard Daniel Zimmerman.

Survivors include her mother Loretta jean Begay of Phoenix, AZ, brothers Edwin Rivers of Tama, IA, Shawn (Pat) Begay of Mesa, AZ, David Alan Begay of Phoenix, AZ, Gene Robert Begay, of Layton, UT, Michael Evans Begay of Amherst, MA, sister Juliet Morgan of Tama, IA, very good friend James Peshlakal of Phoenix, AZ, aunt Irene Begav of Peoria, AZ, uncle Jerome Begay of Peoria, AZ, niece Sally Loretta Begay, sister in law Sophia Martinez.
