Richard Benda

Richard William “Busch” Benda, 74, of Tama, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. There will be no services at this time.

Richard was born on October 2, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of William and Iva (Hansen) Benda.

He graduated from Chelsea High School.

Richard worked at Pioneer in Toledo for over forty years. He liked taking drives in the car, watching football and professional wrestling. Richard loved playing with his dog Duke.

Survivors include his significant other, Thereasa Gragg-Paffel of Tama; his best friend, “Duke”; two sisters-in-law, Terri Moulds and Nancy Hunter; two brothers-in-law, Stephen Gragg and Kenneth Gragg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
