Debra Marvin

Debra Ann Marvin, 62, of Tama, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, at her home in Tama due to natural causes. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Debra was born on December 8, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Norma Dee (Lane) Kriegel.

She attended South Tama High School and Marshalltown Community College.

Debra was married to Bernard “Butch” Marvin and together they raised three children. They later divorced but remained lifetime friends.

Debra was a former youth service worker at the Iowa Juvenile Home in Toledo and had worked at Traer Manufacturing for ten years. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama. Debra enjoyed selling Paparazzi Jewelry and liked to sing and play guitar all of the time. She also loved her dogs.

Survivors include her three children, Dee Dee (Chris) Nims of Robins, Robby (Hilary) Marvin of Marion, and Ryan Marvin (Shelby Wiese) of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Kinnick and Lexi Nims, Eleonora and Mirabelle Marvin, and Taylor Marvin; her siblings, Danny (Rose) Kriegel of Tama, Denny Lane of Indianola, Linda (Darrell) Campbell of Green Mountain, Janice Konicek of Tama, Mary Lee Lane of North Liberty, and Joe (Peggy) Kriegel of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Donnie Lane; and brother-in-law, Roger Konicek.

A memorial fund will be established.
