Linda (Murty) Stone, 74

Linda (Murty) Stone, 74, of Conrad, entered into eternal life August 5, 2022, at Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown with her family at her side. Linda’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2022, at the Beaman United Methodist Church in Beaman with interment following at the Conrad Cemetery and luncheon at the Conrad American Legion. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorial contributions are welcomed to be made in her memory to the hospice of your choice, the Animal Rescue League or the Union Grove Lake. Linda Louise Murty was born November 20, 1947, in Marshalltown, the daughter of Lester and Louise (Westerfield) Murty. She attended school in Marshalltown and later in Tama – Toledo. On August 26, 1984, she was united in marriage to David Stone. The couple made their home in Conrad where she enjoyed caring for her flowers. Linda was active in volunteering her love and talents to the Iowa River Hospice, the Board of Directors at Union Grove Lake and the Board of Adjustments in Conrad, the ACOA Group and various other clubs. Since the age of 12, she was an avid bowler and was a member of a bowling league for most of her life. Linda loved large family gatherings, especially at Christmas. She enjoyed Christmas shopping, traveling, spending time at the lake and those delicious chocolates. But most of all, Linda was dedicated to her husband and children. She loved her family tremendously and endeared her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family gatherings were always her happiest times. She will be forever loved and deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, David Stone; her children: Gerald Koebke, Bobbi (Matt) Kruse, Sheri (Mike Christensen) Voy, Gabe (Toni Smith) Stone, Gavin Stone and Nicole (Rich) Stone; her 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; her brother, Les Murty and many nieces and nephews.

In eternal life, Linda has been reunited with her father and step mother Lester and June Murty; her mother and step father, Louise and Ronald Quigley; her brothers, Michael Murty and Marty Quigley and her nephew, Tanner Quigley.
