Renelle Darla “A-ka-tti-a” Young Bear, 35

Renelle Darla “A-ka-tti-a” Young Bear, 35, of Tama, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at UnityPoint-Marshalltown. A Traditional Wake was held Saturday evening at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services were held Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Settlement.

Renelle was born on September 22, 1987, in Marshalltown Iowa, the daughter of the late Todd Dana Young Bear and Reba Blackcloud.

She graduated from South Tama High School.

Renelle loved watching Shrek and other movies.

Survivors include her mother, Reba Blackcloud, of Tama; siblings: Trent Dylan Young Bear, of Tama, Jon Young Bear, of Tama, Carlos Ortiz, of Ankeny, Adrinn T. Hoag Jr., of Mesa, AZ and Heather Hoag, of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her father, Todd Dana Young Bear; and brother, Tremayne Dalton Young Bear.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is assisting the family with the arrangements.
