Ronald Lee Dolash (Ron), 75

Ronald Lee Dolash (Ron), 75, of Toledo, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA, on Saturday morning, March 18, 2023. He was born on Aug. 17, 1947, in Marshalltown IA, 1st born of Leo and Greta (Ellis) Dolash. Ron Graduated from South Tama High School and honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam war.

He married Judy Paustain at the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook, IA, on Aug. 1, 1968. Ron worked as a farm hand as well as at Tama Pack and Tama Livestock Auction, Montezuma Mfg. He had his tree trimming and landscape business and retired from the Tama County Conservation at Otter Creek Lake.

Ron had a great love of nature, birds, flowers and especially squirrels. He was also a talented gardener and very proud of his yearly tomato crop. He enjoyed working with leather and woodworking and often played Santa Claus at Christmas because of his love of children.

Ron is survived by a daughter, Tammy Renee Goldsmith, of Tyler, Texas, 5 Grandchildren: Andrew Oelmann, of Japan. Ben Oelmann, of Mora, Minn, Lucas Reitzler, of Urbandale, Ia, and Danny and Anna Goldsmith, of Tyler, Texas; 2 Great Grandchildren, a brother, Denny (Barb), of Tama, a sister, Barb Mobley, of Marshalltown, and a sister Becky (Mark), of Dysart.

A private family gathering will be scheduled.
