Mary Timm

TOLEDO-Mary F. Timm, 74, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael McAndrew and Deacon Stan Upah officiating. Interment will follow at Stayskal Cemetery in rural Vining. Visitation will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 from 4-7 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church with a Vigil Service and Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.

Mary was born on August 22, 1949 and was raised by her grandmother.

Mary graduated from South Tama High School in 1968.

On August 22, 1970 she was united in marriage to Ronald Timm at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Mary babysat for families in the area for many years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Mary enjoyed quilting, was an avid sewer and liked doing crafts. The family enjoyed camping and playing cards. Mary was a “kid spoiler” and Grandma to many children.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years, Ron of Toledo; children, Malinda Timm (Joe Chadd) of Wright City, MO, Chris (Joann) Timm of Fairfield and Jacinda Avalos of Lodi, CA; six grandchildren, Ely and Bryleigh Chadd, Brody Timm, Marissa, Ricardo and Nicholas Avalos; two special adopted grandchildren, Jamy and Jeremy Dolash; sister, Rosie Lacina of Tama; several nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; grandson, Bristyn Chadd; special grandson, Trent Rohach; brothers, Kenny and Michael Smith; and brother-in-law, Jim Lacina.
