Shannon Peters

TAMA-Shannon Peters, 58, of Tama, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. A Traditional Wake will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Eagle Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Monday, September 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Settlement.

Survivors include his children, Joanna Peters of Grandview, MO, Melissa (Wesley) Latcham of Brooklyn Park, MN, Sonya Peters of Oakland, CA, Andrew Peters of Montour and Veronica Peters of Ames; brother, Sean Peters of CA; half-brothers, Stephen (Patsy) Ponder, Michael (Nikki) Erickson and Kevin (Theresa) Peters.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
