Gary L. Strine
Gary Lloyd Strine, Professor of Physics passed away on July 12, 2024 in Caldwell, Idaho.
Gary attended the University of Iowa where he studied under Dr. James Van Allen and graduated in 1959 following service in the Navy during the Korean war. He went on to earn a Master's degree from the University of Denver. In 1967, he took a job teaching physics at The College of Idaho. He earned his PhD from the University of Idaho in 1977. In 1997, Gary retired from the College of Idaho though he and Hona continued to be very active members of the Yotes community. In 2014, Gary was recognized for his long dedication to students when the C of I physics lab was named in his honor.
Gary is survived by his wife, Hona, his brother, Philip, his four daughters–Cindy, Becky, Amy, and Stephanie, three sons-in-law, and nine grandchildren.
His life will be celebrated in the Langroise Recital Hall at The College of Idaho on October 5th, 2PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Gary Strine Memorial Fund at The College of Idaho. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
