Audrey Kramer Dodds
TOLEDO-Audrey Ann Kramer Dodds, 99, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo. Interment will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Radcliffe Cemetery in Radcliffe, Iowa. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 AM at Christ United Methodist Church.
Audrey was born on October 6, 1925, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Noble and Leta (Schmedika) Johnson. She grew up in Radcliffe, Iowa. Audrey graduated from Radcliffe High School, where she played basketball, and then graduated from Iowa State in Home Economics.
On February 12, 1949, she married Charles Kramer in Radcliffe, Iowa. He passed away in 1988. After Charles passed, she married Morton Dodds and they lived in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He passed away in 2008.
Audrey was a substitute teacher and taught at South Tama and Meskwaki Schools. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo, and P.E.O. Chapter DF in Toledo. Audrey loved to travel and liked her cars, owning a Porsche 911 at one time. She enjoyed playing bridge, and was a big Iowa State sports fan and a strong Republican.
Survivors include one son, John (Renae) Kramer of Toledo; one daughter, Julie Kramer (Richard Rude) of Valders, WI; three grandchildren, Heather (Chuck) Berry, Jonathan Almer, and Nathan (Amber) Almer; two great grandsons, Devon and Deakon Berry.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Charles Kramer and Morton Dodds; daughter, Susan Kramer Jones; grandson, Alex Almer; brother, Richard Johnson, who died in combat during the Korean War.
Memorials may be directed to the Tama County Humane Society or Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo.
