Mary Earhart
TAMA-Mary Annette Earhart, 66, of Tama, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama, Iowa. It was her wish to be cremated and there will be a Memorial Graveside Service at Haven Cemetery in rural Tama and luncheon at a future date.
Mary was born on September 5, 1958, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Gene C. and Joanne (Carman) Hill.
She graduated from West Marshall High School in 1977. When she was in high school, she worked at a pharmacy. After graduation, Mary worked thirty-three years in the telephone services at GTE, Iowa Telecom, and Windstream. After that, she worked at the Tama County Day Care until she had to retire due to illness. Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed cross-stitching, and loved dogs.
On April 7, 1979, she married Chuck Earhart at the Melbourne United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Chuck of Tama; sons, Eric (wife Julie) of Iowa City, and Greg of Marengo. She is also survived by her brothers, Tab (wife Judy) Hill of Marshalltown, Doug (wife Susan) Hill of Arizona; Bob (wife Clara) of Kentucky, Pete (wife Jeannie) Hill of Story City; sister, Jeannie Milam of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Mike Milam.
A memorial fund will be established.
