Frances Hopper

Frances Ann, lovingly called Ann, by family & friends, peacefully fell asleep in death on December 31, 2024. Ann was born to her parents, the late Frank and Frances J. Hopkins, on January 12, 1936, in Birmingham, Alabama. At the age of 19, in 1955, Ann joined the Navy and served in Virginia. That was where she met Duane Sells who would become her husband and father of their two children, a daughter, Lisa and a son, Kerry. After marriage & leaving the military, Ann and Duane moved to Duane's home state of Iowa. Ann symbolized her dedication to her heavenly Father, Jehovah, be getting baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on January 13, 1962.

Because of health issues, Ann relocated to the Carlsbad, CA, area in 2016, to be close to her son, Kerry and daughter-in-law, Toni.

Ann was preceded in death by her father, Frank Hopkins; mother, Frances J.; brother, Harold Singletary and daughter, Lisa Sells Warner.

Ann is survived by her son, Kerry (Toni) Sells; sister, Mary Patricia Phillips; grandson, Beau (Becky) Bristol; five grandchildren, sister-in-law, Doris Sells Valline, along with other family and friends.
