Evelyn Carpenter

Evelyn Maxine Carpenter, age 94, of Anaheim, CA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, January 8, 2025, at her residence. She was born August 13, 1930, in Tama, IA, the daughter of the late Lawrence Crawford and Zola Fiala Crawford.

Evelyn was preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence (Larry) Crawford and Harold Crawford, and her son-in-law, Robert Naber.

Evelyn married Jack Carpenter, also of Tama, IA, on August 27, 1950. Jack and Evelyn lived in Cedar Rapids before moving to Santa Ana, CA, in 1959 with their two young daughters.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Garden Grove, the Women’s Club of Garden Grove, Buena Park Elks Lodge, and the Friendship Club. She enjoyed writing devotions and poetry.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Jack Carpenter, her two daughters, Cheryl Troia (Rick) of Seaside, CA, Cathy Naber of Dublin, CA, her grandson, Christopher Brangwin (Crystal) of Monterey, CA, granddaughter, Rebecca Naber, of Dublin, CA, and great-grandson, Rocky Brosswin.

She was an active member of her family and the community. Her family and friends will deeply cherish the memories they shared with her and miss her dearly.
