Joan Hansen
Joan (Joann) was born on New Year's Eve of 1939. She grew up in Tama County, Iowa, with her parents Carrie and Vernon Becker, and her 4 sisters: Jane (Jack) Bogue, Ruth Becker, Marlene (Dene) Rhoads and Mary Ann (Richard) Gardner. Joan also had a half-brother, Vernon “Dutch” (Kelly) Becker, he grew up in Cedar Rapids.
Joan married the love of her life, Raymon F. Hansen on June 10, 1963. Ray and Joan had two children, Kris (Jeff) Sackuvich, now in Overland Park, KS and Tony (Jessica) Hansen, now in Olathe, KS. Ray and Joan moved to Creston in 1973. Ray passed away in 1992 and Joan continued to guide the family from their home until her health took a turn and she moved into the Care Initiatives Care Center on November 7th.
Joan passed on into the hands of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day. Joan touched the lives of many family members and friends.
Also surviving Joan is her sister, Mary Ann Gardner; three grandsons: Jerad (Hannah) Sachuvich, of Kansas City, MO, Justin Sachuvich, of Leawood, KS and Evan Hansen, of Olathe, KS; a great-grandson, Ryker Sackuvich; along with great-granddaughter, Isabelle Sachuvich.
She was loved and will be missed.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; sisters: Jane, Ruth and Marlene and her brothers-in-law: Richard, Jack and Dene.
