Paul C. Jones, 83, of Brooklyn, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at UnityPoint Health in Grinnell. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn with Rev. Guylain Yumba officiating. Burial will be in the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Memorials may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church in Brooklyn.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Doris; children: Larry (Julie) Jones and Tammy Jones; two grandchildren, Steven Jones and Amanda (Bryan) Losness; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Mia Losness and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Richard Jones.
Paul Charles Jones was born July 23, 1941, in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Charles and Violet (Johnson) Jones. He graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1959. Paul was united in marriage to Doris Luttman on July 30, 1961, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grinnell. Paul farmed in the Madison Township northwest of Brooklyn. Over the years, he raised cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens and crops. He also was a route carrier for the postal service and drove the school bus for the BGM school district. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Brooklyn for over 58 years and was in the Friendship Class at the church. He was also a member of the Iowa Farm Bureau, FFA and 4-H. Paul and Doris were part of a country dance group. They also enjoyed playing cards in a card club, going to car races, tractor pulls and the State Fair. He often participated in tractor rides, rode around the countryside in the Mule, played Pitch with his family and he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
