TOLEDO-Wayne Eugene Foreman, 94, of Toledo, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Wayne was born on October 12, 1930, in Corydon, Iowa, the son of Leslie and Wilma (Kendall) Foreman.
Wayne served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.
On October 25, 1957, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Masker in Marshalltown, Iowa. For sixty-seven years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Dorothy. Wayne was a welder for forty years at Lennox in Marshalltown. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming. He also liked playing cards, tinkering in his shop, and woodworking. Wayne loved anything outdoors, especially gardening and taking care of his lawn.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Toledo; his children, Lori (Bob) Flynn of Toledo, Gwen Wathan of Toledo, and Darin (Amy) Foreman of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Lance (Laurie) Flynn, Bret Flynn, Brian (Chelsie) Flynn, Gail (Brad) Meek, Rick (Season) Anderson, Lesley (Josh) Youngbear, William Foreman, Joseph Foreman, and Nicholas Foreman; great-grandchildren, Baylor and Brady Flynn, Alexis, Kailee, Natalie, and Olivia Meek, Jaxton Anderson, Jacob, Kyle, and Kendra Youngbear; great-great grandson, Kamdyn Meek; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his stepmother, Gladys; stepsister, Loraine Mahaffey; grandson, Sidney Anderson; son-in-law, Don Wathan; two brothers, Keith Foreman, and Don Foreman; and one sister, Lucille Estes.
Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit lives on in the memories he created and the lives he enriched.
A memorial fund will be established.
