You’ll Figure It Out: Things I’m Thankful For
“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens; bright copper kettles & warm woolen mittens….” Yep, just like Julie Andrews, Here are a few of my favorite things.
The dollar menu at any fast food place.
Bumper cars at Adventureland. Love bumping into the other guy.
Popcorn. Any kind, any time, but with lots of butter & cheese.
A good Chinese Egg Roll.
Babies. Ya just gotta love ’em. Makes one realize the world’s still a good place to be.
Cruises! Yeah, we’re going on one over Christmas!!!!
Salt & Vinegar Chips. Anything actually.
Growing up in the 50’s and 60’s. Best era ever, right???
VETERANS. Love all of you. Thank you so much for your service.
Fundraisers from kids. Ya hafta buy something, right? and then you get to eat the goodies you bought. Win/win!
Coffee! Mmmmmmm, that first cup in the morning.
Grandparents. Why, because I am one now. We are great people aren’t we?
Scented candles! Hah! No way. Just kidding here. But Deb loves ’em!!!!
Elevators. No explanation needed right???
Hugs. From anyone. I’m a hugger, but from one of your grandkids…….wow!!! Oh, and Deb too!! (whew).
People coming up to me and saying you love my articles in the paper. Love both of you.
Geezer golf. Fun group of old guys playing golf. Funnier watching them try playing golf!!
Face-Time. Talking to our grandson in Seattle is grrrrrrreat. Oh Sarah & Bryan too.
John Wayne Cowboy movies. What’s your favorite? Mine’s The Shootist.
Also I love Amazon, thunderstorms, holidays, sunsets, rainbows, family texting, old family pictures & albums, pizza and any old song from the Association, CCR, BJ Thomas, The 4 Seasons, Simon & Garfunkel, Jay & the Americans and, and, the list just keeps going on. But my all-time favorite is “It’s A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. So, what’s your favorite?
Finally, being married to Deb for 50 years, having three wonderful girls and three super grandkids. Thanks for the celebration last weekend. Wow!!! We were surprised!!
