Just Jonathan: A community coffee shop
A handful of times I’ve used my column to shoutout and praise the great attributes of our community. I love who we are and the great things we’re capable of. That is not this week’s message. I want a coffee shop.
Originally a Facebook post I made after conducting an interview inside of a local fast food establishment, I felt the need first hand. Having a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a warm (or iced if it’s not -40 degrees out) could be a game changer for young and old.
What a great place to have a coffee club or high schoolers to go on a first date. We could take pride in a small local coffee joint.
Over the last few months I’ve upped my time spent in a coffee shop to write the happenings for the newspaper. I’m super plenty of people who work remotely, enjoy reading, or simply people watching could take advantage of a space like this.
While I’d love to take this idea and run with it, college life has me a bit tied up. Maybe someone reading would like to take the initiative and watch a community rally behind them. I’ll be first in line for a cup of joe! Until next week, I’m Just Jonathan.
