A Fair View

Bill Faircloth.
Well I took a week off. It is time to let Tama County citizen’s know some facts.
Three years ago, Tama County Against Turbines (TCAT) came to the Board of Supervisors and said they were petitioning us to stop the Winding Stairs Wind Project. The group told us that Salt Creek Wind was already permitted so they weren’t going to worry about that project. Guess what? It only took a few weeks and that went by the wind and they wanted all wind projects stopped. I am sure the one man who told us that will deny it, but it was said.
During that time, TCAT said they had a petition with 1,000 names on it but they never actually presented the supervisors with a petition to record so where is the petition? They have had the public believing for all this time there was one.
Now we have a new Board of Supervisors that will give TCAT whatever they want. Two weeks into their term they put on a moratorium against all wind and solar and now we have litigation because of it. It could mean a large legal expense to the county.
There is also one individual who keeps suing the Board of Adjustment over the permits that were issued to Salt Creek Wind additionally costing the county legal fees.
