The IGHSAU released post season pairings early last week. The STC Trojans had been scheduled to play Center Point-Urbana at Center Point-Urbana on Wednesday,?July 5.

The IGHSAU then issued the following statement via email last Wednesday:

Due to an IGHSAU oversight of an existing cooperative sharing agreement, Columbus Junction’s sharing agreement with WACO, which was submitted to the IGHSAU, was not correctly documented in the softball classification. Columbus Junction and WACO’s combined BEDs numbers are 266, which places them in Class 3A. This moves Columbus Junction-WACO into Class 3A and moves Dyersville Beckman Catholic into Class 2A.

Multiple regions are impacted by this change. Once the error was discovered, brackets were adjusted utilizing our bracketing principles (geography, rankings, separating strength) while trying to impact the fewest number of schools as possible.

The STC?Trojans will be playing Vinton-Shellsburg at Vinton on Wednesday July 5 at 7 p.m. The winner of that game will move on to play the winner of the Union and East Marshall contest in Union on Friday, July 7.
