Jim Roan of Toledo shot a third-round 75 and clinched the Gold Medal in golf at the National Senior Games held in Birmingham, Alabama. His 3-day total was 233, besting the field by two strokes.

Roan was among thirty-two golfers in his age category who qualified at regional sites across the U.S. last fall to earn a spot to compete at the US Senior Games. Roan qualified in Minnesota.

Roan is an avid golfer who learned the game after he began caddying as a teenager. His high school did not have a golf team at the time.

This week, Roan proudly represented the Midwest, Tama-Toledo and the Tama-Toledo Country Club in Birmingham.
